God Speaks - The Holy Spirit


This Friday we begin a 4 week series called ' God Speaks ' in which we will be looking at the different ways in which God may speak to us.

This week we are looking at the Holy Spirit.

    God has spoken to me many many times and in some spectacular ways, but 99% of the time it has been through the Bible, sometimes as someone explained it but usually just as I read it.

    Does God also speak to suicide bombers? How can you be sure you are right and you are wrong?

    Hi anon, the Bible doesn't speak of a God who instructs suicide bombers. I think those who take this course of action are not hearing the words of my God. Simply, I believe the Bible is the word of God.

    But will people listen to you if you just argue that you are right and they are wrong? You may believe that the bible is the word of God , but they will be just as convinced that the Koran is the word of God - and also may be prepared to go to more lengths than you to demonstrate that God is speaking directly to them .

    PS God in the bible clearly instructed his chosen people to kill in order to inherit the promised land. Are the SB's so different in their approach?
