Thinking about the ideas we shared on Friday, we need to produce a Vision (Mission) Statement.
It should express the reason for our church and define the focus for what we are and what we do.
Please post your ideas here and maybe later we'll have a vote on the best one.

Anyone ?
We're thinking.... :o)
Whatever we come up with we have to start looking outward to share the Gospel with others, because we are called to be the light in the world, and that includes Keighley.
Here's a couple of my ideas to simply express who we (The FridayService) are and what we want to do:
- Following Christ into todays world.
- Sharing the Gospel in ways which are relevant to todays world.
Other things we wanted to include in what we do are variation, vibrancy, life, fellowship, hospitality. Also we should aim to be visible and recognisable.
The thing that most struck me in our meeting last week (and there were many good things) was Julie's comment about her friend who only came once because everyone else was confident in their faith and Biblically literate.
We have an "Alpha" feel in most ways, but not quite; the newcomer - who may feel welcomed, enjoy the coffee and the relaxed atmosphere - does not feel at home when we do some things.
But those are the things that the more mature Christians want - the deeper discusion, the meaningful liturgy, seeing Christ in the Matrix story etc etc.
So how do we do both?
A further stimulation for the debate:
Copy and paste this web address into your "address" box in your internet explorer.
One famous Christian tells of his confusion...

What would you say to him?
SORRY!
blogger has cut the end off the address.
After 061004 add _ (underscore) then
moby/mp3/moby_1.mp3
If you still have problems, access it via the homepage: http://www.sojo.net/
How about - Aim to be a FTCW.
Answers on a post card please.
Aren't we called to live a Christian Lifestyle in every thing we do and say. Therefore doesn't that need to be in the statement somewhere.
