Came across this today, or rather it came across me in the Henri Nouwen weekly relfection:
"The infant, Klein believes, struggles with conflicting responses to her environment, mostly represented by the mother. The child experiences intense love, aggression (manifested in biting the breast) and even envy. How could a baby feel envy?"

Well the Bible does talk to us about all sorts of human relationships; and one of the things we thought about on Friday was that people making a mess of their lives is not especially new -it has been going on for 4000 years +.
If God could use these imperfect people (Isaac for instance followed both the good and bad examples set by Abraham) then there is every chance that He can still use us today.
There is a sense in which as we retell these stories we are going to come across a wide range of issues and parenting, sibling rivalry and love interest (that is next week I think) will be covered.

whot
Intense love, envy, aggression - at what age does it start and why? Why does one brother kill another?
Often felt that life would be so much simpler without families - yet who wants to be hermit?
Marriages, siblings - never a dull moment but not for anyone who wants a quiet life!
what's this a parenting course
